Young Ethiopian Pastor Leads Assassin to Christ
Peter’s life no longer belongs to him.
Incredible Things Happening in Ethiopia
In Ethiopia, incredible and impossible things are happening every day. Men are having dreams that lead them to Jesus, and thousands upon thousands of people are abandoning their false religions to embrace the Gospel.
Peter is one of many Ethiopians who has left his old ways behind to follow Jesus. He has witnessed the power of God firsthand and is in awe of what is unfolding in his country. “My life is in constant danger,” Peter says. “People are looking for me, believing I am teaching a false religion. They fear the Gospel and have placed a bounty on my head. But when I walk through the crowds, I am protected by God. My enemies cannot see me, even when I pass right between them.”
Peter shares an incredible experience: “One day, I had a dream where the Lord told me that someone was coming to kill me. I did not fear, but trusted that God would protect me. A group of men had gathered with me to learn about the Scriptures. I taught late into the night about Jesus. One man, however, was acting strangely — he was agitated and restless. I prayed for him and continued teaching. When everyone left, this man stayed behind. He confessed that he had come to kill me. He showed me his knife, but then he declared his desire to follow Jesus.”
Peter’s life no longer belongs to him. He gave it up when he turned to Christ. Despite the many obstacles and dangers he faces, he continues to share the Good News, so others can experience the peace that comes from serving the one true God.
Matthew 10:22 says: You will be hated by all because of My name. But it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.
Peter is determined to endure, no matter the cost. He knows the eternal significance of his decision and stands firm with Christ.
