Vision of the Future

The dedicated pastors and church planters in Cuba don’t allow their often dire circumstances to affect their ministry goals. They may not have much money or resources but they belong to the One who does! Their faith in Jesus compels them to work tirelessly for the Kingdom. One group of pastors felt burdened to work among those addicted to drugs and alcohol, but they knew they would need a special facility to make it happen. Finding a building with land is not an easy task in Cuba, but they persevered and prayed day after day that the Lord would provide. The group of pastors started fundraising to save money. Eventually, they found the perfect property that fit all of their needs. It had a large house and enough land to expand and establish a farm. The group purchased the property and began planning their ministry. Meanwhile, in a mountainside community, Mark, a young pastor with a small congregation, felt a call on his life to work with people suffering from addictions. One day while deep in prayer, the Lord gave him a vision of a beautiful property in the city that he would be one day working at. Mark was uncertain about the vision and doubted that anything like that would ever happen. He lived in a very remote area, only accessible by foot through a steep mountain pass. The chances of him ever leaving were very slim. Months later, Mark received a phone call that would change his life. It was another pastor on the line, one of the men who had transformed the facility for addicts, and he wanted to know if Mark and his wife would come and be the resident pastors to work with addicts looking for more than just a sober life. Mark was overcome with emotion at the miracle unfolding before him. He and his wife left the remote mountainside village and met with the group of pastors. Upon seeing the facility for the first time, Mark was once again taken aback by the sheer power and goodness of God. He could scarcely believe it, but he was standing before the exact location that the Lord had shown him in the vision.

It is easy to think that our efforts for the Kingdom might go unseen by God but this incredible story shows us that the Lord is all-knowing and all-powerful and he is in control of our lives.

In Luke 16:10, we are told: If you are faithful in little things you will be faithful in large ones, but if you are dishonest with little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. Like the pastors in Cuba and many others, we must never doubt God’s goodness and His plan for our lives.

Months later, Mark received a phone call that would change his life.
